About Me

Have been involved with dogs all my life.Have had HV for  many years+enjoy Obedience,Tracking+Now Retrieve Trialling:)I was in the right place in my life when  Crispin became a part of it.To say I am WIRED is an under statement!!! Now Retrieving is a Big Learning Curve.(especially for me)Crispin in the hands of an experienced Retrieving person could be Fantastic.Even so he has done well.Ive never touched agun before getting him.He has taught me heaps+endears himself everyone he meets. My HV Edgar the Excellent is not aging slowly+seems to get more spring in his step as the years roll on.All the dogs Ive owned +loved have done well in the show ring+I think its agreat way to socialise young pups.In years gone by I had a great JOB working with the Pal Super dogs. This progressed to being involved in Shopping Centres+ also Fly Ball demos long before it became a sport at Agricultural +Royal Shows:)To any Wiredhaired Hungarian Vizsla owner out there it be assured that YOU WILL BE WIRED like I am.Enjoy the ride!!

About Me

I live with my husband Bob, our b/w GSP, Razor & our young wirey girl, Remy. We live at Goolwa, SA, where the mighy Murray meets the sea so my dogs get lots of opportunity for swimming. I first learnt about HWHV's early last year & immediately fell for them. Remy came into our lives last August & she is a delight. I have competed in retrieving trials & obedience with 3 GSP's. I hope Remy will follow my other dogs into these dog sports.

About Me

Hi,

I live on 200 acres near Benalla in Victoria. I have been admiring the HWV from afar for a while now and have been fortunate enough to meet Maree and Indi which has convinced me the WHV is the dog for our family. Although we don't have a Wirey yet we look forward to owning a HWV in the future

About Me

I live in the Blue Mountains in NSW with my partner, 2 Vizslas (one smooth, one wirey), and one long suffering Burmese cat. Before these two crazy Viz puppies we had another Viz (smooth) and a series of Weimaraners.

I've never been a big fan of showing but I have done quite a bit of obedience over the years and have just been introduced to retrieving trials by Anne Salisbury, which is what we plan to do with our wire - Millie. Our dogs have always been part of the family and included in all our activities. I can't imagine life without a Viz!

About Me

My name is Maree, I was a nurse, now a health & wellbeing coordinator, Qualifyied in Diploma in Community welfare. I have had dogs most of my life. I was the one who would bring home the strays from school telling myself they needed a good home and most times I was allowed to keep them, so dogs are and will always be  part of my life.

I have always loved gundogs and started with spanials, did a bit of showing but didn't particularly learn much and got disheartened by the whole affair. Many years later I aquired a mini poodle (Rosie) started obedience, then bought a standard poodle from Giday kennels, Melb ( Linda Johnson ) a gundog OS but not here "Tia" (AKA)  Tracking CH Giday Rip Curl Girl CDX ET, who was a challenge to train being a brilliant worker but very independant and who at the young age of 6 died recently after a sudden illness. I had started training her for gundog retrieving because my interest in the sport was renewed, and thought it would help get me ready for the next dog a gundog of course. After much research into what breed I would like to have, and having loved the smooth Vizsla for a long time, I was made aware of the wire version and their reputation for being calm and patient made me enquire further. I liked the fact that they still looked basically like the smooth vizsla, but had the added advantage of a, so I'm told of a lovely clam nature.

Almost had a wirey baby but as things do, it didn't happen. It may happen soon though and I'm like the expectant mum waiting myself. I'm also pleased to be part of a group promoting this new breed and hope to do lots of work in Showing, obedience, tracking, gundog work and Endurance. I know it sounds alot but what fun we will have doing it. I want to show this breed has not only beauty but brains as well.

I'm a member of the Wangaratta Kennel & Obedience Club Inc, Vic as obedience instructor, run tracking clinics for people wanting to learn to track. I also belong to  the Vic Tracking club & Albury & Border Kennel Club. I enjoy helping people who want to train their dogs for competition and love watching gundogs at work doing what they do best...Thanks for inviting me to join this new group..hope to see everyone some time

About Me

My husband, Andrew, and I live on fifty secluded acres on a property located a half hour from the country town of Gympie, Qld where we devote our time to breeding Hungaran Vizslas - both Wired and Smooth. We have imported five HWV's from Hungary, primarily from the wonderful Zoldmali Kennel of Zsofia Miczek .Our most recent boy International and Hungarian Champion Zoldmali Sereny, arrived from Hungary to join us in January and recently took out Best In Show in an All Breeds show in Biggenden.  This was truly a wonderful moment for us, and a first for the breed.

Apart from our Zoldmali progeny, we have a girl from the Furdohazi Kennel (Hungary) and a new girl from Hungary, about to come to Australia by way of the USA, from the Hejocsabai Kennel.  Charlee will be accompanied by a new "Smooth" Vizsla, American Ch.ElginCariad Miss American Pie  (Missy). They will arrive in quarantine early August.

Our purpose with the Wirehaired Vizslas is to help establish the breed here where the breed has only been recognised since 2007,and where good hunting dogs are in demand. We hope to ensure that the breed is expanded by using exceptional and different bloodlines in order to produce happy, healthy dogs. Good health and an excellent temperament are of foremost importance to us in our breeding programme. We propose to set standards of excellence that will ensure the breed is enhanced, and that our Hungarian Wirehaired Vizslas are sought after in and out of Australia.

About Me

Hi I live in Perth, Western Australia and have 3 dogs (a HWV called Freddie, a Labrador called Malik and a little fluffy called Sasha.) I show Freddie and am training to do Retrieving with him.

I really do love this breed, I have always been a Vizsla person, as we bred and showed smooths in Perth for many years, but Freddie my HWV is such a special dog and I am so pleased I was introduced to the wires!
